(ST. LOUIS) U.S. Senator Jim Talent (R-Mo.) today issued the following statement on President Bush’s visit to Missouri:
“I’m happy to welcome President Bush to Missouri and I’m pleased he’s appearing on my behalf. I’ve appreciated his strong leadership in exercising his Constitutional responsibilities to keep America safe in the global War on Terror.
“I was also pleased to visit with him on issues of importance to Missouri. We’ve worked together on issues that are a priority for both of us including making the tax cuts permanent to create jobs and economic growth, reducing health care costs by allowing small businesses to join together to purchase health insurance and reducing our dependence on foreign oil by adding ethanol and biodiesel to our fuel supply.”
