U.S. Senator Jim Talent’s campaign got a big boost today as more than 11,000 supporters turned out in Southwest Missouri for rallies with President Bush. More than 5,000 supporters attended the rally in Springfield and more than 6,000 rallied in Joplin. As Election Day draws near, Jim Talent is leaving no vote behind urging supporters to sprint to the finish line and get-out-the-vote on November 7.
“Whenever the President comes in for you it helps you get your message out and with the Election right around the corner it will help us get the vote out,” said Senator Talent. “I appreciated the President talking about what I’ve done for Missouri on issues like supporting ethanol and biodiesel, lowering the cost of health care, fighting methamphetamine, confirming honest, qualified judges who will interpret the law, providing tax relief for everybody and supporting policies of strength in the War on Terror. Our supporters are energized and we are sprinting to the finish line.”
Senator Talent later traveled to Perryville, Kennett and West Plains for Farm and Ranch rallies with Missouri Farm Bureau President Charlie Kruse.
Senator Talent also announced an 11-city Missouri Values Tour beginning tomorrow where he is holding get-out-the-vote rallies in Jefferson City, St. Joseph, Kirksville, Hannibal, Poplar Bluff, Cape Girardeau, Rolla, St. Louis, Columbia, Kansas City and Springfield.
