With ten days to go before Election Day, Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy is asking Missourians to send his “friend Claire McCaskill to Washington.” The radical Massachusetts senator this week was quoted in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch giving his strong endorsement to the State Auditor.
Ted Kennedy’s support for McCaskill goes beyond friendship. He understands that if Missourians send his liberal friend to the U.S. Senate, his party could regain control of key Committees like the Senate Judiciary Committee on which Kennedy serves. In fact, if enough of Kennedy’s friends are elected to the Senate, he would be in line to chair the Immigration Subcommittee. Kennedy, like McCaskill, favors amnesty for unlawful immigrants. By the way, if you haven’t read McCaskill’s amnesty plan to give “priority for legalization” to immigrants living in the U.S. unlawfully, you can read about it in the Columbia Daily Tribune.
Amnesty isn’t the only issue McCaskill and Kennedy have in common. They agree 100 percent of the time on the following issues:
- McCaskill and Kennedy oppose making the tax cuts permanent.
- McCaskill and Kennedy oppose the Energy bill which included Senator Talent’s legislation requiring the oil companies to buy ethanol and biodiesel.
- McCaskill and Kennedy opposed the confirmation of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court.
- McCaskill and Kennedy oppose amendments to protect traditional marriage.
- McCaskill and Kennedy oppose the Terrorist Surveillance Program.
- McCaskill and Kennedy opposed the Medicare prescription drug benefit for seniors.
- McCaskill and Kennedy oppose exploring for oil in the ANWR and the Gulf of Mexico.
- McCaskill and Kennedy oppose the ban on partial birth abortion.
- McCaskill and Kennedy oppose Small Business Health Plans.
