Senator Talent had an outstanding campaign swing today with three very special guests: Rudy Giuliani, Charlie Kruse and Ken Mehlman.
We started the day in Independence with a rally at our headquarters headlined by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Mr. Giuliani praised Sen. Talent's leadership in supporting positions of strength in the War on Terror, including terrorist surveillance, which Claire McCaskill opposes.
The Mayor also talked about the importance of Senator Talent's bipartisan Combat Meth Act which is helping law enforcement fight methamphetamine in every community.
Next we traveled to Excelsior Springs and Fulton for Farm and Ranch Rallies with Missouri Farm Bureau President Charlie Kruse.
Charlie discussed the reasons why the Missouri Farm Bureau endorsed Jim Talent. He also talked about the important partnership that Senators Talent and Bond have in the Senate, cautioning farmers that Claire McCaskill would vote more with Ted Kennedy than Senator Bond.
Senator Talent then met up with RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman at our Columbia headquarters where volunteers were busy working the phones and getting out the vote!
Mehlman told supporters that one thing is certain: Claire McCaskill wants to raise your taxes.
Our final stop of the day was in Jefferson City where Senator Talent joined Missouri Farm Bureau members for a delicious chili supper. Farmers and Ranchers for Talent are highly energized and ready to get out the vote for Senator Talent!
Tonight, Senator Talent traveled to Springfield where he will join more than 11,000 supporters in Southwest Missouri for Talent for Senate rallies with President Bush!
